At my house my Roku TVs are all connected to my home WiFi but if the internet is having an outage I connect to my iPhone hotspot. We just got a Roku TV at my boyfriend’s house and I cannot get it to connect to my phone. I read a similar post and I’ll post the response below. I’ve tried looking for that info on my phone but can’t find it. Can anyone help me further?
Some mobile hotspots (Verizon and Tmobile, notably) have been configuring their hotspot APNs to use IPv6. Roku devices cannot currently use IPv6, so will need to verify that your hotspot is using IPv4.
Look through your hotspot settings for something that says APN, IP Protocol, or similar language and verify that either IPv4 or IPv4/IPv6 is showing. If showing IPv6 only, will need to change the APN to use IPv4.
Are you using a mobile hotspot on a phone/tablet (Apple or Android) or is this a portable hotspot device?

If you can't connect your streaming device to the internet, you can use your mobile device to create a hotspot. This can help if your network is down or if you're outside the Wi-Fi range and need to set up your Roku TV. After setting it up, you can turn off the hotspot and use your TV for other things, like connecting a gaming console or a live TV antenna. set up instructions for your phone and then follow the steps in the section above to find and connect to your phone's hotspot network.
Hotspot capability is dependent on your mobile device and mobile service provider. Downloading updates for your streaming device can consume large amounts of data. Refer to your service provider for your data limits and hotspot policy.
