Max isn’t allowing me to watch anything

Jump to solution

Whenever I try to watch anything on max the following message appears:

”Something went wrong “

”sorry, there seems to be a technical issue. Please try again or select a different video”.

I have performed steps that Roku has suggested from a similar post but it didn’t work. I have HBO on cable and Max is included. No issues prior to this so I am not sure what is causing this technical issue.

Hello! @MariaY,

We're thrilled to have you with us here in the Roku Community!

At times, channel playback issues may occur. We recommend trying again and following the steps below.

  • Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press the Star button to open the options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
  • Restart your Roku device: Restart the device from the settings menu. Go to Settings > System > System restart > Restart.
  • Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.

You can also check for additional troubleshooting provided by our support page here: How to resolve a channel playback issue

If the issue persists, it is recommended to report this issue to the channel support team for further assistance. Most Roku channels are managed directly by the channel providers.

Thanks,
Arjiemar
