Re: Don’t want Two step verification

Forgot the other new thing from Roku to me: I can no longer sign in to my Roku account on my laptop with FireFox. I have to use Chrome or Edge and they are sooooooo slow.

Two step verification is turned off in my account settings.  Yet smart home app still wants to verify with my phone number.  Well Roku my phone number is private.  You're not getting it.  Verify via email would be fine.

Smart home app is deleted until you reconsider this.  Nice job Roku.

OMG! People have said they are not getting the verification code. HOW IS THIS LISTED AS THE SOLUTION!?! And with a "kudo"! I'm having the same problem. I had to use someone else's phone number because you (Roku Support) said I could turn two-factor authentication off in your application and you LIED. How humiliating! If you text their number again and I said you wouldn't, that will be so nice. I thought Roku TV, light bulbs and service was so cool and now it is GARBAGE! Good job!

Hi @Trubeliever,

Thanks for your first post in the Roku Community!

We would be more than willing to provide you with a step-by-step process for turning off the two-step verification on your Roku Smart home app.

Use the following steps to turn off two-step verification when signed in to the app.

  1. In the app, tap Account
  2. Tap Security
  3. Tap Two-step verification
  4. Tap Turn off two-step verification
  5. When prompted for confirmation, tap Continue
  6. If you do not have access to your verification phone number, tap Send a code to my email
  7. Type the verification code that you receive in a text or email
  8. Tap Turn off two-step verification

For reference, you can visit pour Roku Support article: How to enable two-factor verification on the Roku Smart Home app

We hope you find this information helpful.
