Needing help with a charge. Roku for ESPN

Jump to solution

I’m hoping someone here can help. I have a charge for $12.65 coming out of my bank account. It is listed as Roku for ESPN. I pay my ESPN directly to Disney plus since I have a bundle through them. I also looked on my Roku subscriptions and nothing for ESPN is showing there either. Checked my bank statement clear back to the beginning of the year and no charge is showing for Roku for ESPN. This is the first time and very random.

Hi, @Mic7234.

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We appreciate you reaching us about the charge on your account. We're here to help.

Have you tried checking the email address associated with your streaming device to check the charge? To check: Home > Settings > System > About.

Also, where did you sign in with your subscription? Is it via the Roku channel or through a standalone app? This may be the reason why it charged you.

Note: If you signed up for a subscription directly through the streaming service, you need to sign in with the username and password that you created for that account.

Furthermore, you may visit this support article on how to sign in to an app on your Roku device

We hope you find this information helpful.

Thanks,
Reynan

Earlier today, I too noticed an unauthorized charge on 11/23/24 to my checking account from "Roku for ESPN" for $11.99.  I knew I hadn't made any purchases through Roku (and would have used a credit card, not the debit card) but verified that no purchases or subscriptions were listed in my Roku account. I contacted my bank to report the suspicious transaction and we determined my debit card had been hacked.  Something to consider . . .
