I'm being charged for Max yet I have no subscriptions open.

Jump to solution

I'm being charged every month Roku Warner Media for slightly different amounts and I understand this is Max. However I get Max from my cable company and I do not have a subscription with Roku.

I am also being charged about $20 a month for the Roku channel. Why am I being charged for the Roku channel. This also is not anything I've subscribe to.

I've checked my account and it clearly states no active subscriptions. I want these charges to stop and I want to be reimbursed since I've never purchased Max through Roku.  I also can't get in touch with a human to discuss this.

Hi, @Dmeb.

Welcome and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!

We'd be more than happy to help you with the unrecognized charges on your account.

In addition to our Community Expert's post above, have you tried checking the email address associated with your streaming device? Here's how you can check: Home > Settings > System > About.

Here are the steps to cancel the subscription on your account:

  1. Sign in to my.roku.com
  2. Go to My Subscriptions
  3. Under Active subscriptions, select the subscription you want to cancel
  4. Select Manage subscription and then select Turn off auto-renew
Turning off auto-renew means you've canceled your subscription and you will not be billed for it in the future.

If you're still unable to locate the charge, you may contact our Account and Billing team for further assistance. Visit our Account and Billing Support page and select the "Account, payments & subscriptions" category. You'll have an option to call or chat with us.

Furthermore, you may visit this support article on what to do if there is a charge you don't recognize on your Roku account

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Reynan

You are not being charged by Roku if there is nothing listed in your Roku user account (https://my.roku.com). If there's nothing there, then scammers are billing your CC and using the name of a company that they think you might accept as legitimate. Contest the charges with your CC company, and ask them to cancel your card and issue a new one. Your CC information is obviously been stolen and no telling how many thieves might have it.
