USB Power Cable with Long-range Wireless Receiver

My Roku streaming Stick+ stopped working.  I discovered it was due to the  USB Power Cable with Long-range Wireless Receiver.  This plugs into the stick.  My Samsung tv HDMI inputs all require that the  Stick is plugged into the tv HDMI such that the USB Power Cable with Long-range Wireless Receiver cord is coming out of the top of the Stick (upward), so that it then flops/hangs down via gravity.  I discovered that the cable that connects it to the Stick wore and developed a tear right at the stress point where it flops downward after the connection to the Stick.  I feel this is a defect, and dont think i should have to pay $20 for a replacement.  Ideas?  Fixable?

    I have the same problem. The cable broke. I tried to replace it but the remote doesn't work with other cables. Did you find any solution?

      If you have not already, can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.

    I just the same exact thing happen! Same scenario...Samsung TV...wireless receiver cable in the upright position and flops downward...broke off at the stress point into the steaming stick. I prefer to use my Roku remote over the Samusung remote that comes with the TV.

    What’s the remedy?

    I am having the exact same problem.  Has there been any resolution to this problem?  Can't purchase a replacement because ROKU says it's out of stock.

      Yup. It’s called purchase a new Roku. You can buy a Streaming Stick 4K for $40

        You should not have to purchase a whole new roku just to get a replacement power cord.

    I am also needing the USB power cable with Wi-Fi receiver. They have been out of stock for a few months. Any idea when they might be re-stocked. I hate to buy a whole new Roku when it’s only one piece that’s the issue.

      Marial68  No one know when they will be in stock. A new cable with WiFi booster is $20. A new Roku Streaming Stick 4K is $40 and in stock

    I'm having the same issue. The cable just stopped working and now I can order a New one cuz it's out of stock. Trash!!

    I’ve only had me Roku about 2 weeks and it stopped working due to the usb power cable with long range wireless receiver also and I cannot find it ANYWHERE to replace so annoying!

        I really don’t want to return it it was working great I just need that specific wire but cannot find it anywhere

    I am having the same issues. For months, the TV would stop streaming, then kick back in again. Discovered that jiggling the stick would sometimes work. I pulled removed the HDMI cord from the ROKU stick and saw the pins were all bent. The USB Powercord with Long Range Wireless Receiver has been out of stock, so   I ordered a USB power cord from Amazon, but it's not compatible.  How can I get a replacement part?  S/N 23131A/O4449, Model 3810X.

      Jenrainey  You cannot get a replacement cable. They are out of stock. The cable is $20. Unfortunately your only choice is to buy a New Roku

        Danny,

        You do realize that without this cord the Roku is completely useless. Unless the customer wrote down their SN or still has the box, there is no way to get this information from the Roku stick. 

        This is what is so infuriating. As a Roku employee, how did you not think of this? There are non-Roku employees offering better customer service and advice than actual employees. Quit giving us the run around. I have provided my SN, model number and have been told someone would be in contact with me, yet I get nothing.

        Hi, I have had the same problem with my roku power cable. It’s been temperamental since purchased but now has completely stopped working. My serial number is 213125956565. I have only owned it for 9 months and rarely move it so this seems ridiculous.

    My USB Power Cable with Long-range WiFi Receiver literally fell apart.  I removed the cable from the stick so that I could pack it up for a move and the connector end came apart.  It looks like the crimp failed.  Very poor manufacturing if removing the calble one time causes it to come apart so easily.  I need a replacement. SN: 21308A045051 Model: 3810X.

      jschoengarth  I highly doubt it fell apart. I own two 3810. Either way your Roku is out of warranty and the cable is $20. The cable is out of stock so your only choice is to purchase a new Roku Stick

        I "highly doubt" you are qualified to say whether or not it fell apart.  I also own two 3810 units; one of which did not fall apart.  Yay for us owning two!   I guess when I unplugged the unit for the first time and the the metal portion of the connector housing sticks in the unit and the cable is no longer usable, I consider this falling apart.  Normal removal force from the unit should no way cause this defect.  My assumption is this issue is related to poor crimping during the manufacturing process.  With all the issues I see in this thread for this part, the fact that this cable is out of stock, and that there is no way to contact customer service, I think this company knows they have issues.  I love the Roku stick and it has worked well for me.  However, this defect should never have happened.  Customer Service - I need real customer support please.

    My Roku recently stopped working and upon trying to plug it into to different power sources I figure it is the power cable with long range Wi-Fi. Is this a defect of that batch of streaming sticks? It was bought in November 2021. The SN of my device is 213179312372. Could a replacement be given? Thank you

      Welcome to the Roku Community. 

      Could you provide us with more details about the issue? Do you receive an error message or code? Have you made sure that you firmly connected the USB power cable with the long-range Wi-Fi receiver to the device and power source? Could you also tell us how are you powering your Roku device? Is it connected to the USB port of the TV or to a wall outlet? 

      Keep us posted on what you find out.
