HDMI-CEC Help Setting up Device
I don't think my TV supports HDMI-CEC or it's broken. Is HDMI-CEC just a regular HDMI port on the TV or is it a special port that will say HDMI-CEC? Or is it just a setting on the TV in the menu? My TV is a Sharp so does Aquos Link Control have to be on and if so can I use a regular HDMI port or does it's still have to say HDMI-CEC on the port? I have the exact same issue with my Roku Streaming Stick 4k. Was working before November. Now, no sound for any other inputs through ARC. The only thing that works is TV speakers. After unplugging Roku and restarting the TV/soundbar, ARC works fine. Plug Roku in again, back to TV speaker. I bought the wireless speakers 9020X and I've been trying to pair it with my Streambar 9102MX and there's no option in the paring menu on speakers or subwoofer, just remote and headphones. I've tried everthing from restarting, factory reset, new batteries on the remote and nothing seems to work. How can I get the option to pair speakers to appear? My 9102R Streambar just developed the dreaded static issue. This is the 2nd one I have owned and both have experienced the same issue. The first one I purchased had the static (sounds like blown speaker) issue out of the box. Roku replaced it and now the replacement has started doing it out of the blue. I have tried power-cycling as well as other sources and HDMI cables. Streambar software is up to date. I have researched this issue and it is ALL OVER the Roku community forums. Is there going to be a recall or any recourse for this issue? Serial Number: YL0001196108Solved5.2KViews1like25CommentsSound glitches after some time - high/low and distorted
It seems to be an older thread and I can't reply. I am having the same problem as https://community.roku.com/t5/Discussions/Roku-Ultra-Volume-glitch-after-some-time-Volume-glitched-high-or-low-and-distorted/td-p/867899 I can see the user reports it was not solved. I have this problem on both of my Roku ultras on an LG TV with earc soundbar and a Samsung TV using the built in speakers and in various apps - Netflix, Hulu, peacock, max, etc. So it's not the TV, it's not the app, the Rokus are rebooted and fully updated. Unfortunately as this other poster wrote it is random - it might happen after a few minutes it might not happen at all it might happen after watching for a few hours. The only fix I've found is to hit back to stop whatever is playing and resume it. I had a thought last night while trying to Google this problem and not finding much other than the post above. Could it be a bug in the Roku sound leveling feature? I absolutely have that turned on both my TV's because I feel like everything is practically unwatchable without it. I will try watching with it off to see if it repeats but again unfortunately it is not intentionally repeatable. I was wondering if anyone else has thought about this or if Roku can consider reviewing the sound leveling function for problems? edit: fixed typo4.7KViews5likes32CommentsStreambar Pro 5.2 - Adding a second subwoofer
Currently, I have a Roku Streambar Pro with all 4 Roku TV Wireless Speakers and a single Roku Wireless Subwoofer (5.1 audio). I just purchased a second Roku Wireless Subwoofer to make a 5.2 system, but the only option for the subwoofer is to replace the current one. Is there any way to add a second Roku Wireless Subwoofer ? And if not, is this feature coming soon? I am tech savvy and can be a beta tester, if that helps, because I really don't want to have to return my new Roku Wireless Subwoofer . Thanks in advance!Solved4.6KViews5likes16CommentsRoku remote muting Spectrum
I have a Roku Streaming Stick that I use with the Spectrum app. When I access the Spectrum guide and press the down arrow to scroll the guide, the down arrow mutes then unmutes the sound as I scroll down the guide. This also causes a lag in scrolling because the remote is scrolling down and muting/unmuting at the same time. I reset the Roku but nothing changed.Solved2.6KViews0likes7CommentsEver since the last update, private listening stopped working.
I have used private listening on my roku devices (Roku Express 4K 3940RW, and Hisense TV G211X) just fine for a long time now. I have never once had an issue with it, and love it so much. After the last app update, it no longer works at all. There is either no audio, or the audio keeps playing from the TV, and it keeps going from saying private listening on, then turning it off again. Here are the things I have tried: I made sure my volume was up Turned devices on and off again, and unplugged and plugged them Turn my phone (android) on and off again Cleared app cache Cleared the app data Force closed and re opened the app Tried different wired headphones Tried switching from wired to blutooth headphones Checked for updates on the rokus Checked if my phone was missing any permissions Made sure to turn on nearby share, location, and blutooth Double checked my app was up to date. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app Looked up any help topics that might be relevant I still can't get it to work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? As far as I can tell, the last update just broke the feature. I miss watching TV while my wife is asleep.2.5KViews0likes5CommentsPrivate listening volume too quiet
I like the private listening feature, but the volume level and quality is variable between apps. For example, when using private listening with YouTube, the volume level is quite low even at maximum volume. When using private listening with Amazon Prime Video, the volume gets much louder and sounds much better. The volume is also low for HBO Max. I just got AirPod Max headphones and the volume can get very loud when I listen to music on Spotify or YouTube or other apps on my iPhone, so I know the headphones can get louder than they are when using Roku private listening. I connected my Bluetooth headphones to an Apple TV at my parents house and the sound quality was amazing, so I think it’s either a problem with Roku private listening overall or the way that each app (YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, etc) deals with the audio for private listening.2.2KViews2likes0Comments
