Audio HDMI arc not working after update
I have the exact same issue with my Roku Streaming Stick 4k. Was working before November. Now, no sound for any other inputs through ARC. The only thing that works is TV speakers. After unplugging Roku and restarting the TV/soundbar, ARC works fine. Plug Roku in again, back to TV speaker.
Setup:
TV: LG OLED65B6P
Soundbar: Sonos Beam v1
Roku: Streaming Stick 4k - 3820X - S/N S08Y424TFG70
Hello! Anallen111,
Thank you for posting in the Roku Community!
We appreciate you contacting us regarding the issue with your audio HDMi ARC not working after the update. We're happy to help.
- How is the Audio connected? (HDMI or Optical)
- A/V Receiver or soundbar make/model:
- Does the error appear during the playback of a TV show or movie, during a commercial or advertisement, on the home screen, etc.?
- Is your soundbar plugged into the ARC HDMI port?
- Have you tried another cable or port?
You should check to make sure HDMI ARC (or eARC) is enabled along with an HDMI feature called CEC (or Consumer Electronics Control).
To enable ARC (or eARC):
- Press Home on your Roku TV remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- Select System
- Select Control other devices (CEC)
- Scroll and highlight ARC (or eARC)
- Check the box using OK on your remote to enable ARC (or eARC)
To enable CEC:
- Perform ARC steps 1 through 4 above
- Scroll and highlight System audio control
- Check the box to enable System audio control
- Highlight 1-touch play
- Check the box to enable 1-touch play
If you want to learn more, refer to the detailed article about enabling CEC and ARC on your TV.
Please keep us informed about any updates, and we will be glad to continue helping you further. We eagerly await your response.
Thanks,
Arjiemar
