Sound glitches after some time - high/low and distorted
It seems to be an older thread and I can't reply. I am having the same problem as https://community.roku.com/t5/Discussions/Roku-Ultra-Volume-glitch-after-some-time-Volume-glitched-high-or-low-and-distorted/td-p/867899 I can see the user reports it was not solved. I have this problem on both of my Roku ultras on an LG TV with earc soundbar and a Samsung TV using the built in speakers and in various apps - Netflix, Hulu, peacock, max, etc. So it's not the TV, it's not the app, the Rokus are rebooted and fully updated. Unfortunately as this other poster wrote it is random - it might happen after a few minutes it might not happen at all it might happen after watching for a few hours. The only fix I've found is to hit back to stop whatever is playing and resume it. I had a thought last night while trying to Google this problem and not finding much other than the post above. Could it be a bug in the Roku sound leveling feature? I absolutely have that turned on both my TV's because I feel like everything is practically unwatchable without it. I will try watching with it off to see if it repeats but again unfortunately it is not intentionally repeatable. I was wondering if anyone else has thought about this or if Roku can consider reviewing the sound leveling function for problems? edit: fixed typo4.7KViews5likes32CommentsStreambar Pro 5.2 - Adding a second subwoofer
Currently, I have a Roku Streambar Pro with all 4 Roku TV Wireless Speakers and a single Roku Wireless Subwoofer (5.1 audio). I just purchased a second Roku Wireless Subwoofer to make a 5.2 system, but the only option for the subwoofer is to replace the current one. Is there any way to add a second Roku Wireless Subwoofer ? And if not, is this feature coming soon? I am tech savvy and can be a beta tester, if that helps, because I really don't want to have to return my new Roku Wireless Subwoofer . Thanks in advance!Solved4.6KViews5likes16CommentsPrivate listening volume too quiet
I like the private listening feature, but the volume level and quality is variable between apps. For example, when using private listening with YouTube, the volume level is quite low even at maximum volume. When using private listening with Amazon Prime Video, the volume gets much louder and sounds much better. The volume is also low for HBO Max. I just got AirPod Max headphones and the volume can get very loud when I listen to music on Spotify or YouTube or other apps on my iPhone, so I know the headphones can get louder than they are when using Roku private listening. I connected my Bluetooth headphones to an Apple TV at my parents house and the sound quality was amazing, so I think it’s either a problem with Roku private listening overall or the way that each app (YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, etc) deals with the audio for private listening.2.2KViews2likes0CommentsRoku Streambar and Hearing Aids
I am trying to connect a Resound TV Streamer 2 to my Roku Streambar SE so that I can simultaneously listen to the TV through my hearing aids while other family members listen through the Streambar speaker. The optical plug on the Roku seems to be an input and not an output so it does not supply sound to the Resound Streamer 2. I had hoped that because HDMI/ARC is a 2-way connection, that the Roku Soundbar sound would flow back to the TV and I could use the TV's digital output, but no sound there as well. I've seen the suggestion to use private listening. This works fabulously if I am watching alone, but doesn't help when other people watch with me, as private listening mutes the Roku speaker. Has anyone found a solution that allows simultaneous listening through hearing aids and the Roku Streambar speaker?Solved2.1KViews1like8CommentsStreambar 9102R - Static sound
My 9102R Streambar just developed the dreaded static issue. This is the 2nd one I have owned and both have experienced the same issue. The first one I purchased had the static (sounds like blown speaker) issue out of the box. Roku replaced it and now the replacement has started doing it out of the blue. I have tried power-cycling as well as other sources and HDMI cables. Streambar software is up to date. I have researched this issue and it is ALL OVER the Roku community forums. Is there going to be a recall or any recourse for this issue? Serial Number: YL0001196108Solved5.2KViews1like25Commentswe can't connect to any Bluetooth devices
It's completely bull that we can't connect to any Bluetooth devices other then Roku. There was a lot of money spent on this sound bar for a gift and I'm can't even use it for my TV. I can't hear the TV from across the room and wanted to connect to a speaker closer to where I sit and it won't let me. Even if it was a roku speaker it still has to be right next to the TV. How is this fair? I payed a lot of money for my TV and can't even use it the way I can with other tv's. Why would I want to spend almost 200$ on a speaker that I can't even have where I want it. I don't have a table bellow my TV. This makes me very unhappy. Roku is trying to be like apple and that's why I don't have an apple device in my home. I might end up not having roku either if someone can not explain why I can't connect a simple speaker to my TV. onn. Roku Smart Soundbar because I have an onn sound bar and it still won't work.1.4KViews1like0CommentsThe lack of any .2 or more option is a total dealbreaker
Going through the settings on the new tv, found the audio section and tried to Bluetooth my existing audio. Following the link I discovered Roku brand audio, and the short version is - I was going to buy a 5.2 setup but I’m not ordering anything - RANT MODE : [ON] OFF I considered 7.2 but thought to double check a few things before making the purchase. I’m surprised to discover .2 or more isn’t even an option? I admit I have no experience the development of televisions, audio hardware, wireless technology or anything else involved; but as an end user or even just a casual observer, i wonder “how hard is it to add the lines of code or soldering a second antenna or whatever it is they do, doing it a second time in order to sell subwoofers or subwoofer pros?” I understand that the reality of implementing the option is more complicated than that statement. regardless that is my first thought. I was going to make a purchase, now I’m not. Trying to find whether or not I could use multiple subwoofer pros lead me to the forums where I see several other people asking the same thing. Clearly there are a bunch of subwoofers that could be sold, but sit unsold on warehouse racks because the option to use more than one at a time doesn’t exist. there is no adapter to purchase, no type of product available to give you the option(s), no premium tier sound bar that has the built in option, you simply cannot do it. People want to spend the money but are told they can’t I suppose there are third-party options available that allow you to split a wireless subwoofer signal into two or more speakers. however, without checking the compatibility, I already to know that it’s beyond what I was willing to invest in all this. I’ll just stick with the hdmi arc passing thru sound before screen and assume that Roku will one day implement the .2 option. or maybe they don’t. Whatever they do, I won’t be waiting to find out. Instead of spending time checking into the problem, I’ll just go with a dif solution that’s already available. It’s safe to assume that I’m not the average customer though. Reason would dictate that Roku has done the math and had meetings where this topic was brought up, discussed, weighed and the decisions that were made were based on logic. So I guess I’ll just see myself out and spend that money elsewhere as intended RANT MODE : ON [OFF] Oh well.1.5KViews1like1CommentHDMI-CEC Help Setting up Device
I don't think my TV supports HDMI-CEC or it's broken. Is HDMI-CEC just a regular HDMI port on the TV or is it a special port that will say HDMI-CEC? Or is it just a setting on the TV in the menu? My TV is a Sharp so does Aquos Link Control have to be on and if so can I use a regular HDMI port or does it's still have to say HDMI-CEC on the port? ThanksSolved10KViews1like2CommentsNo sound on other channels Roku Streambar SE on Sony TV
Bought the Roku Streambar SE today. It has no sound on other channels outside of HDMI 3, which is the ARC port. I have factory reset the device, I have tried different HDMI cables, and I have disabled and reenabled the CEC and eARC settings. Bravia Sync was turned on an off. It only plays sound from HDMI 3 which is the Roku Streambar itself. I'm probably going to return this because it seems to just be defective. This is a last ditch effort to try and get it to function outside of the one HDMI input.Solved14Views1like1CommentSoundbars have To much BASS? Equalizer?
