When My tcl roku tv searches for Wi-Fi connections it doesn't pop up any Wi-Fi networks or anything it just asks to scan again I’ve rest my Wi-Fi tried other wifi networks an reset the router itself including turning wifi ping on and off on the tv but nothing works. Also it recognizes when I connect my ps5 through the hdmi but continuously says no signal on every wifi port but usb works. I’ve tried everything except taking it apart.
See if this helps:
There are some router setting issues that can prevent establishing Roku wifi connections. And to make matters worse, some of them can be caused by recently-reported router updates. These have primarily been reported with routers supplied by internet providers (Comcast/Xfinity, Cox, and AT&T so far), but it's possible they could also occur with other internet providers or user-owned routers that have received similar updates
Reconfiguring Router
Thanks to forum user @AvsGunnar for providing the links below to instructions for reconfiguring router settings for the listed internet suppliers. If you can't do this yourself, you may need to contact your internet provider to make these changes for you:
If your problem was not caused by any of the above, often a restart of the router (even if other devices are still connecting) followed by a restart of the Roku will allow the connection to be reestablished. Depending on your Roku model and Roku version number you'll find the "System restart" option under either "Settings > System > Power" or "Settings > System", or if more convenient you can just remove the Roku's power for a few seconds and let it restart.
@Austin1, check the Wireless MAC address displayed under Settings->Network->About. If it's all zeros, you may have a hardware failure.
I have this same issue. Seems like my TCL Roku TV is shot. It was purchased new in December 2018. Any ideas on what is going on?
Here is what happened and what I have tried:
Was watching TV (streaming via YouTube TV - on WiFi) and started loosing connection to wifi.
SUMMARY
If my ROKU Ultra would work I could salvage this TV but since it will not work on this specific TV it has me baffled.
other notes
@tizlaney, as you suspected, the all zeros MAC address is your network problem and almost certainly indicates a hardware failure. It should list separate MAC addresses for wired and wireless (at least my other Roku devices do). They're both all zeros? You'll never be able to connect to anything with an all zero MAC address.
I can't imagine why the Ultra wouldn't work. Maybe try taking it to another TV and force the display mode to 720p (not automatic).
A last resort would be a factory reset.
Factory resets have been done several times.
Interestingly I also just purchased a Express 4k+ that will ALSO NOT WORK on this TV.
I tested it on the other 4 TVs I have (3 are TCL Roku) and all 4 work perfect....just not the one in question...its so strange.
I type this from the parking lot of WalMart....guess new TV will be coming out with me.
Thanks for the comment.
