Wonderful new YouTube update that blacks out screen when looking at comments, forces you to reset video to get the actual video.
What in God's name are these people doing over Google?
This app has been a dumpster fire for the past 3/4 months.
First it was video starting with a black screen. Now it's black screen when you look at comments.
This is getting ridiculous.
Please help!
Hi @TheTruth,
Greetings from the Roku Community!
We understand that you're having problems streaming with the YouTube app. We're happy to help. In some cases, removing the channel and then reinstalling it may help. Please follow the steps below:
If, after attempting the suggestions above, you are still unable to stream it on a single channel, while content from other channels plays fine, we recommend that you contact the customer support team of the channel provider to report the issue and get help. The channel developers themselves maintain channels on Roku. An issue within that specific channel likely needs to be addressed with an update from them.
Kind regards,
Eunice

Hi, @RBM86
Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.
We understand your concern with the YouTube TV app on your Roku device.
For issues like this, it's better to be raised with YouTube's support directly since features such as opening comments, scores & stats are part of the app's functionality. This is more likely a bug within the app itself that the channel provider can address with a workaround or an update to their app.
You can contact them at YouTube Help - Google Help
We hope for your understanding in this regard.
Best wishes,
Kash

Same issue. No updates of YouTube as of now. Restarting tv works 50% of the time. What a cluster.

Deleting and reinstalling does nothing. Got better support on Reddit. You have to clear your cache by going to the Home Screen and on the remote press home 5 times, up once, the rewind 2x and fast forward 2x. Doesn’t permanently fix the glitch as you will have to clear your cache again once the black screen returns.
i agree
