Roku Crackle and Pop sound after standby
Hello,
I've noticed that there are many entries regarding Roku devices causing crackling and popping sounds, yet no cause or permanent solution offered. My issue: I have a Hisense H8F which is an Android based television. I have a Roku 4K Express as I prefer Roku's UI to all other streaming platforms. I have had the device for quite a long time. Approximately 3 months ago, the device started making popping/crackling sounds when awakened from standby mode. OS is up to date. All apps are up to date and no new app has been added for more than 6 months. Restarting the device restores proper sound, for now. But, the experience has progressed and escalated from occasionally to every time at present. I see that reps have posted that the issue is known and Roku is working on a solution. Is the issue forthcoming or should I move back to a different platform? I dont want to have to buy a new Roku device over and over again. FYI, I have a TCL Roku TV for over 6 months with no issue as yet. Is this issue affecting Roku native TVs as well?

Re: Roku Crackle and Pop sound after standby
I used to get a crackle/pop (and a screen flash) when I had "Display Refresh" enabled in my settings.
(Settings/System/Advanced Display Settings/Auto-Adjust Display Refresh Rate). Perhaps try toggling that to a different setting and see if that helps.
If you need the setting enabled, then try using a different Screensaver. (since you mentioned it occurs after the standby/low power mode).
Just another Roku user... I am not a Roku employee.
