NBA App won't pin to homescreen

Jump to solution

I was having issues with the NBA app so i uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Once reinstalled, it won't pin to the home screen.  I have to do a search for it.  The app comes up in recent searches,  and I can open it from there without having to download and install it, but I have to do this every time i want to launch the application.

It also prompts me to login every single time.

Any advice here?

Hi, @amiryazdi

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.

After you add a channel from the Roku Channel Store, a square tile with a channel icon is added to the grid of channel tiles that appears under Home on the main screen of your Roku® streaming player or Roku TV. Scroll down and you will find the newly installed channel at the bottom of the grid.

If you prefer, you can move the channel to a different location.

Use the instructions below if you wish to move the channel to a new location on your Home screen.

  1. Press Home

     on your Roku remote
  2. Press OK

or the right button on the directional pad to access your channel list. The directional pad is plus-shaped and is in the center of your Roku remote.
  3. Using the directional pad, highlight the channel tile you wish to move
  4. Press Star

on your remote to open the Options menu
  5. Select Move channel
  6. Move the channel and press OK

on your remote when you are satisfied with the new location
  • Note: When you move a channel tile, the change only applies to the Roku device you are using at the time. Changes do not sync to other Roku devices on your Roku account.

In addition, you can set each app and make it show on your channel tile list by navigating to Settings > Home Screen > App Order> [Manual].

We hope this works, and let us know if you have further concerns or inquiries.

Best wishes,
Kash

Hi -

I understand how to do that.  My issue is after i add the NBA channel from the Roku Channel store, I don't get the square tile with the channel on my home screen.  It's been downloaded, and I can launch it from the search function, but that is the only way I can access it.

Trying unplugging the power from your Roku device for 30 to 60 seconds and then powering back on and see if that helps.

This is exactly the issue - the channel is installed but the square tile with the channel icon is not added to the grid of channel tiles.  How do i solve that?

Hi Community Users!

We completely understand your concern about the issue you're experiencing with the NBA app that does not appear on the home screen after installation, and we'd love to be able to help so we can get this sorted out quickly.

Here are some quick fixes for you to try:

  • Try uninstalling the channel from the Roku Mobile App or through the Roku Website
  • After following the steps above, reinstall the channel again through the Roku app or website and check your app tile to see if it appears on your home screen.
  • If it still does not appear on the home screen, try restarting the system on your Roku device. To do this, just head over to Settings > System > Power (skip Power if it is not available), then go to System restart > Restart now.

Still not working? Feel free to let us know, and we can dive a bit deeper to get this sorted. Hope this helps!

Looking forward to what you find out,
Emman
