I click on Netflix and my remote doesn’t allow me to move left to right or up and down to make a selection. On PBS, when I try to use the remote it is totally out of control. It move up and down and I can’t get it to land on the episode I want to watch. I have Amazon and no problems there. I don’t know if it is the remote or the streaming channel. I put in new batteries and have a standard remote.
You may just need to restart your Roku after receiving an update to your Roku software. [Note: If you have a Roku TV with "Fast TV Start" enabled, turning it off/on puts it in/out of a standby mode but does not give you a full restart.]
Depending on your Roku model you'll find the "System restart" option under "Settings > System > Power" or if you don't have a "Power" option, under "Settings > System".
If a restart doesn't do it, or if you don't have sufficient control with the remote to navigate the Roku menus, you can also restart by pulling the power plug to the Roku for a few seconds then plugging it back in and waiting for it to restart.
This is also happening to me on the PBS Kids app but not any other apps (I have not tried PBS regular app yet though). I have deleted, added, restarted, and no luck. Perhaps it was a bad update by the app developer and not a Roku device or software problem? I’m not sure how to report feedback on the issue, unfortunately, so any pointers are helpful.
