Wondering if the following is possible...
> Samsung Frame TV box connected to the HDMI (arc) output from from the receiver
> Roku Ultra HDMI into receiver
> Receiver and Ultra are both in a cabinet hidden from view
Can I use the Roku remote programmed for the Frame TV using HDMI-CEC/Anynet+ to turn on the TV and receiver and control volume? TV speakers would be set to off...

Hi @vaida,
Thanks for posting to the Roku Community!
We understand you are wondering whether you can use the Roku remote to turn on your TV and receiver and control the volume simultaneously. Let's clarify that for you.
While the Roku remote is designed primarily to control the device, it can also work with your TV and receiver, even with the TV speakers set off; the volume commands will be sent to the receiver through HDMI-CEC, but only under specific conditions.
Key points to remember:
- Compatibility: Ensure your TV and receiver have HDMI-CEC capability and are enabled on all connected devices in the Settings.
- Functionalities: With HDMI-CEC enabled, you can use the Roku remote to turn on the TV, switch input to the correct HDMI port, and adjust the volume on the receiver. Also, CEC does not allow control of all aspects of every device. You may still need to use the original remote for some functions on a device.
- Manufacturer names: Different brands may call HDMI-CEC differently, so check your TV manual for the exact terminology.
