No problem. Support will successfully deflect having to look at it by asking irrelevant questions, such as your router make and model number.
What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far? Why are you bothering support? We do not acknowledge there is an issue and will mark this case resolved.
Just test it in this manner and it is repeatable 100% of the time:
1- Use ios device for private listening (ie watching a movie with earbuds through an iphone)
2- navigate away from roku app with it still open (ie check email during boring part of movie or commercials)
Then you will lose sound and the app will lock up.
This happens and is 100% repeatable across ios devices with the roku app. This does not happen with android devices with the Roku app. This data set points towards issues with the ios app.
Please fix it.

iOS 18.3 (also had same problem with iOS 18.2)
Roku app version 12.1.0
iPhone 16 Plus
- r0kumonkey8 months agoStreaming Star
ios 18.1.1
iphone Xs Max
Roku 12.1.0.19055683.49
Recently it still locks up and loses audio if I navigate away, but I do not have to reboot my phone to recover. So at least it’s getting better.
Please look into it and fix it.

Terrible. App has gone from a great interface to completely useless in about a week’s time. I tried the “fix” of deleting and reinstalling That worked for about a day. Now, if I use the remote screen and switch over to anything else, the app has locked up when I return, even if it has only been a few seconds

Steps I did to produce the issue:
1) Bought a Roku Ultra
2) Downloaded Roku remote app
3) Tried to use the app but it kept freezing
How I fixed the issue:
1) Sold the Roku Ultra for $0.50 at a yard sale
2) Bought an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
3) Downloaded and used their app
4) Everything worked fine

Hello, this has been happening to my wife and I's phone for well over a year. All we do is open the app and you can see the green dot next to a discovered device and then back out of the app or just make the phone go to sleep and then as soon as you go back into the app the green dot turns grey and freezes the app. The only way to use it again is kill the app and open it again.

Steps to reproduce this issue on the phone:
1. Launch the app, press the 'Remote' tab to bring up the interface.
2. Do something to manipulate the Roku (arrow buttons to scroll menu, use the guide, stop/fastforward/rewind whatever I'm watching, etc.
3. Swipe up on the interface and navigate to some other app on the phone.
4. Swipe up on that app, and navigate back to the Roku app.
The remote is now frozen. Pressing the buttons doesn't show the 'highlight' that indicates it detected that tap. Cannot close the remote using the 'X' button in the upper left. The only solution is to swipe up, and kill the app. You can then start over from step 1.
Now, I will report that for some reason, the app has been working fine the last couple weeks for me. However, my spouse also uses the app, and previously had issues, but is now having the same problem outlined above.
Please solve this.
