Phone Roku app showing devices not available

Roku iPhone app shows 4 of my Roku devices “not available on this network”., only one shows “available” However they are on my network and are working with Roku remotes. I want them all to show “available” on the phone app.  Should I delete my Roku app from phone and reset app?

 Thanks so much community

Re: Phone Roku app showing devices not available

Hey John, Thanks so much for such a rapid response. Yep, all 6 Roku's are connected  to my one account and all are  connected to the same network as my phone. I thought it might be a simple as resetting the phone app. I'll give it a try.

 THANK YOU

Re: Phone Roku app showing devices not available

So, Because the Roku app on my phone showed that only one device was "available" I reset the network connections on all the others that stated "not available". I deleted the Roku app. then reinstalled. Same thing happened  I went to let's connect your Roku. I opened the app on my phone, clicked on devices next up was let's connect your Roku. next up was Roku would like to find and connect to devices on your local network.next up was no devices found ,but that changed quickly to Available on this  network and It was still only the one device , same as the very beginning.

Re: Phone Roku app showing devices not available

Hi @BajaMox,

Thanks for the follow-up!

We will be more than happy to investigate this concern more thoroughly. What kind of phone are you using right now? Is it an iPhone or Android?

Allow your Apple device to access other devices.

If you have an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or higher, you must allow the Roku mobile app to detect and connect to your Roku device. A prompt asking you to grant permission typically appears the first time you launch a new app, or you can follow the steps below from the iOS settings.

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Scroll down the list of installed apps and select Roku
  3. Tap Local Network and move the slider to green to allow access

Using a VPN

A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is commonly used to access an office network when working from home. If you use your phone or tablet to connect remotely for work, check that it is not connected to a VPN when using the Roku mobile app. Some VPN applications route all traffic through the virtual network, making your Roku device invisible.

For more information, you may check out this support article here on how to connect your phone to a Roku streaming device with the Roku mobile app.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,
John
