Plenty of advice here, and none of it is making any difference. Different cables, reset remote many times, it will charge for a half-second, then stops. Seems like software, not hardware connection.
1 - can I force a firmware update?
2 - is there a replacement program?

It's a 4802X streamer, bought as one package on 11-24-2022.
This is the first time I discover it isn't charging, I've been trying your self help options for about 2 weeks.
When I plug it in, regardless the cable or block, it charges about a half second then stops. Otherwise there's no issue with performance. I've reset it several times, and the on-screen menu says it has latest software.

Inspect the usb port on the remote, could it be pushed in? So, it won't make a good connection to the cable? Had that happen once, took it apart and moved it forward a bit, fix the remote. Even though Roku sent a replacement first. 🙂
