I wish I had read this post before buying two Roku’s. Between the HDMI cable warning and this remote that won’t hold a charge, I should have never strayed from Apple TV. I submitted an on line request for a replacement. I hope someone from Roku makes this right.

Mines not charging and won't work without being on charge and I tried the above solution to no avail. I use mine on a 50 inch roku TV.

For clarification, does your remote is a Voice Remote Pro? Did you purchase just the Voice Remote Pro separately or did you purchase a Roku TV that included the remote?

Been going through the same problem. Will not recharge. Got no response back from Roku. Waste of money.

I also have a voice remote pro that does not charge no matter what troubleshooting steps I took from reading this thread. Has roku determined if we all received faulty batteries? Is it a firmware issue?
Details:
I purchased this remote separately about a year ago. I've tried charging the remote connected to the roku and several different chargers, it won't charge past 0% even though the light on the remote indicates it's charging.
I've tried pressing and holding the pair button for 20 seconds. That only worked the first time I tried it and never again.
