Roku TVs with Separate Remotes

My wife and I have two TCL Roku TVs in the same room, about 7, 8 feet apart.

Each one has a voice remote I have connected solely to it, no other remotes connected.

When one of us is watching one of them and they other turns the other one on, they both turn off despite, like I said, the remotes being assigned to their own TV

how do I stop this from happening?

Re: Roku TVs with Separate Remotes

It appears it is using the IR functionality for the power control. Try taping over (or at least covering with your hand) the IR emitter at the end of the remote and see if it will then only control the TV it's paired with. If that resolves the issue, and the TV will still turn off/on with their separate remotes, then tape over either the remote emitter or the IR window on the TV.
