I'm having this same issue. My remote won't work unless plugged into a power cable. However, when plugged in, a notification flashes in the top right- hand corner of the Roku home page, alternating between 'remote is charging' and 'remote battery level: 100%'. I have tried multiple remote resets, and have also reset the entire system. Seems like the remote is defective.

Hello, I am have the same trouble with my voice remote pro. I tried different cords different chargers and even different outlets. Nothing works but to leave it plugged in, that's the only time it works.
Same issue here. Voice Remote Pro will not work unless plugged into a USB charger. I have tried multiple chargers and cables. I have tried rebooting the remote. I have tried re-pairing the remove. No dice. Also, when plugged in the Roku very quickly alternates between displaying "remote is charging" and "remote battery level: 100%" messages.
