The video and audio works fine with epson projector but the remote was unable to control the volume. 

my projector version: epson EX3280.

Hi @Rayhuang,

We understand you’re having trouble setting up the Roku remote with the Epson projector. We're here to help.

If you're setting up the Roku for the first time, use a Smart TV for the initial setup. This way, when you connect it to your projector, you won't need to redo the remote setup, as the Epson projector isn't an option for TV brand selection.

To simplify what @RokuRiamie-D stated, the Roku remote will not control a projector. It is capable of being IR programmed to control the power and sound on most TVs, but the only way to control audio from a non-TV is with CEC, which can be hit or miss depending on the brand of device. I can control my Yamaha AVRs using the Roku volume, but it's being done by CEC, not IR.
