Ultra Remote Fails on TV Audio Control
I've been using a Roku Stick and its remote on my older Samsung TV. Yesterday I bought and installed an Ultra (2024) to replace the Stick. During install I updated software and it went to TV Code 5 before the music stopped. The TV provides the audio. After install, audio control worked fine for a while, then the volume control failed to change the volume and the Mute button turned on mute, but would not turn mute off. I powered everything off to clear it. I then added the older Remote that I've been using with my Roku Stick to the Ultra configuration. The older remote works fine for volume control and mute.
I read one entry that said I had to wait for another software update. Another that talked about changing the way the remote communicates, but I didn't see specifics on how to do it. Please advise.
Thank you

Re: Ultra Remote Fails on TV Audio Control
The suggestion re changing the remote communication method may refer to using CEC commands over the HDMI connection.
This existing post may answer your question:
FWIW, my 10-year old Samsung does not support this function.

Re: Ultra Remote Fails on TV Audio Control
Great write-up on communication between associated devices. Thanks.
I went thru the new remote setup again (it still went through the same five music steps) and charged the remote overnight. Yesterday, It didn't fail at all after that. I hadn't charged the remote for very long before doing my initial install. I'll just see what happens going forward.
Thanks again for the help. Excellent stuff.
