@VAR , you're right; the software updates, not just the one from May but many of the updates being pushed, are breaking the communication between the control and TVs. Regardless, a non-working device is a broken device. What use will you have for it?

I have performed the system update multiple times over the past month, but the remote no longer controls the power/volume on my Sharp TV (it previously did).  Here is my issue report tracker info:

Success. While getting the model number of my TV from the back of it, I noticed the label said Hisense (even though it says Sharp on the front).  I selected Hisense instead of Sharp when pairing the remote, and it worked!

I had to buy a new remote because my original one went out. The old one would control the volume and power but now the replacement remote won’t connect to the TV controls.
