Re: Trouble using Logitec Harmony Home Remote with Roku Ultra 4850

I am trying to add my new Roku Ultra to my Sofa Baton Universal but nothing I do works. Let’s see if I have your procedure down correctly

  1. You had the Roku Ultra 4850 added and successfully worked to the universal remote but it stopped
  2. You deleted to Ultra from the remote menu
  3. You added an older type of Roku (I had a Roku Express, I’ll use that one I guess?) to the remote
  4. Then you deleted (wipe???) that entry off the universal remote menu
  5. Then you added the Roku Ultra back to the universal remote menu
  6. And now all is working fine.

Is my explanation of how you accomplished the final goal?

I have struggled with this since purchasing the new Roku Ultra 4850R. I’m frustrated and ready to dump Roku.

Re: Trouble using Logitec Harmony Home Remote with Roku Ultra 4850

Hi Community Users!

If you are experiencing issues with third-party remotes on your Roku device, we would like to share a potential workaround that may assist in resolving the issue.

Please check that this setting is enabled on your Roku device. It may have been inadvertently reset during a recent Roku update.

Here are some suggestions for actions you might consider:
  1. Use the directional pad on your Roku TV remote to scroll down and select Settings
  2. Navigate to System > Advanced system settings
  3. Select Control by mobile apps
  4. Select from the following settings based on the level of access you need:
    • Limited- Control by mobile apps is restricted to text input, app launches, and access to your activity within the app itself. The app can only control devices that are part of your Wi-Fi network.
    • Enabled- Mobile apps can always control Your Roku device, but it will only respond to commands from devices connected to the same local network.
    • Permissive - Any device within and outside your network could send all commands to your Roku device.e
For detailed instructions, please refer to our support article on How to allow third-party apps to control your Roku device.

If the issue persists, provide the following for further assistance:

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)

Appreciate your cooperation!

Cheers,
Jharra
