The green light under the battery cover blinks green under the left battery

The device we are trying to use is a streaming stick, serial number ct3912458786

When I try to turn on Roku streaming, all I get is the Roku colorful opening screen. but not the home screen. I press "home," but nothing happens.

Because there is no response to the remote control, there is no "settings" to press to try and re-install.

This device had been working fine for several years.

So in putting in fresh batteries, I noticed a blinking green light under the battery cover on the left side. Perhaps the remote is malfunctioning, as looking at other Roku devices, the green light under the battery cover is neither on nor blinking.

Anyone have an idea if this Roku remote can be fixed?

Re: The green light under the battery cover blinks green by the left batter

@Myron1

What is the model number of the Roku device you are using?  Also, are you currently powering the device from the wall outlet, or are you using the TV's USB power port?

Re: The green light under the battery cover blinks green under the left battery

@Myron1-

Blinking light in the battery compartment sounds like the remote is trying to re-pair itself with the Roku.

Place the remote near the Roku and restart the Roku to put it into remote pairing mode.  Since you can't use the remote right now, pull the power from the Roku for a few seconds then plug it back in to restart it.  The Roku should then start the pairing process as long as the remote light is still blinking -- if not press and hold the remote's pairing button until the blinking starts.
