Hi,
My Sofabaton U Series Remote was working with my ROKU Express 4+ this morning and after what appears to have been an update of the Roku Software which also changed my Wallpaper, the Sofabaton stopped working altogether.
All the other devices, TV Soundbar, etc., work just fine.
Please advise what this update caused and fix it. This is on ROKU not Sofabaton. Don't try to push sell your remotes. : )
Not familiar with the Sofabaton, but I would check to see if there is a firmware update available for the device. Maybe that might fix the issue.
Wallpaper updates happen independently of firmware updates (Settings/Theme/Seasonal wallpapers or Sponsored wallpapers = Off if not wanted), though its possible wallpaper may be reset to the default state with some firmware update scenarios.
Unless it was a firmware update (Settings/System/Software Update/Last Updated = ?) or remote firmware update (N/A since you arent using the Roku remote) then remote functionality shouldn't be affected.
If you haven't already rebooted your Roku device (complete AC power off) then you should do so.
Otherwise you can try re-configuring/re-setting your Sofabaton (or learning from the Roku remote in IR mode).
Sofabaton X1S app. and remote stopped working after Roku auto update.
I’m having the same issue with my X1S and Roku Ultra. I deleted and re-added then Roku device on the SofaBaton app and still no luck. Have you found a fix yet?
UPDATE: switched from WiFi to IR control and it is working now. Would prefer to use WiFi but IR will do for the time being.
I have Logitech Harmony Hubs, and I think the Sofabaton operates similar enough you might try the following that worked for me. I had the same thing happen with my Logitech Harmony Hubs. Roku streaming sticks updated to 14.1.4:7708. This new version contains additional settings that aren't well known. I had not yet changed/deleted/reinstalled the Watch Roku activity or the Roku device on my Harmony hubs, nor did I need to. The following change on the Roku’s solved the issue: Settings > System > Advanced System Settings > Control by Mobile apps > Network access. Change the setting to “Permissive”. I can once again control the Roku via the Harmony Hub remotes and the Harmony iPhone app. Hope the same works for you.
Thank you for your post about the Roku update.
