Shortcut buttons not working
I have the “Roku Express (New) | HD Roku Streaming Device with Simple Remote” from Amazon and the shortcut buttons are for Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+, and Paramount +. The Netflix shortcut works fine but none of the others will pull up the apps even though I have the apps downloaded and have subscriptions. How do I go about getting these to pull up the apps?
thank you!

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
The apps load normally if you select them from the Home Screen?

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
I have a Voice Remote Pro with 2 programmable shortcut buttons which I can't seem to set. How do I select the 'Channel' option without pressing OK?
Because if I press OK, I get the next screen, with instructions on how to set a channel as a shortcut, as stated in the previous screen.

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
@westner, I just tried it and I don't think what you're trying to do is possible. Roku has really confused the issue of what a "channel" is, but in this case they're referring to what everyone else in the world would call an app. As far as I can tell, the best you can do with the 1 & 2 shortcut buttons is to set them to launch a particular app. There's no way to get them to go to a particular "channel" within an app, so if you're viewing that "channel" with The Roku Channel (app) you can only program the button to launch The Roku Channel.
I'd love to hear that I'm wrong about that, but I doubt that's the case.

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
@renojim, the shortcut buttons worked in the past until one of them got deleted. The other button still works and selects a streaming channel I set about a year ago when I first got the new remote. The other button for some reason goes to You Tube, which I don't remember ever selecting.

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
@renojim, I don't know what's going on at Roku but my Live TV Guide now doesn't display Channel Numbers for their streaming channels. I understand that not everyone is experiencing this, meaning that this could be some sort of test. I sure hope they don't implement this system wide.

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
There's lots of threads on the missing channel numbers. It's universally hated. Roku is making things "simpler". 🙄

Re: Shortcut buttons not working
@renojim, I was very happy when I purchased my big-screen TCL Roku TV about two years ago. Then a few months later, Roku started messing with the Live TV Guide. Each unnecessary and inane change made it more and more difficult to navigate. Now I regret my purchase. Why couldn't they have left something alone that was simple and fully functional?
