I have a tcl roku tv. Lost the remote, and downloaded a remote app on my phone. Everything worked great. My internet got turned off and now my tv will not respond to the remote. I did a factory reset of tv and now the phone remote won't work on it. I bought a roku streaming device with remote and hooked it up and still nothing. I downloaded the tcl remote on phone and it won't find my tv just the Google hub and other tv out in living room, but not my tv. If I buy just a roku remote a simple one will I be able to use it to set up my tvl roku tv again.

If the Roku device you bought came with a voice remote, you can pair it to the TV.  If it isn't a voice remote, it won't work with the TV.  You'll need a physical remote to get your TV connected to your network.  The cheapest Roku option is the Roku simple remote for TVs.

Many universal remotes also support Roku TVs.  You may be able to pick one up at a local store.
