Welcome and thank you for posting here at the Roku Community, @Jodohi!
We sincerely regret any trouble this may have caused you and appreciate you for trying to troubleshoot your remote.
If you want to remove an existing remote connected to your TV, navigate to your Home screen. Scroll up or down to select Settings > Remotes and Devices. Please be aware that you can't remove an existing remote through your TV if it is the only one connected to it. But you can reset it by pressing and holding the Back and Home button simultaneously for about 30 seconds to reset/unpair.
Furthermore, rest assured that our Support team has been made aware of your concern and will send you a separate email for further assistance. Kindly keep an eye out on your inbox.
Kindly let us know if you have further clarification. We'd be glad to help.
Kind regards,
Carly
@RokuCarly tried holding the back/home button as suggested but did not change anything
I have tried the restart steps, it didn't work. I unplugged the roku device, it didn't work. The software is updated. I have tried pairing options, again it didn't work. I cannot remove the remote's battery because it is a rechargeable remote. It seems this problem started about a month ago for so many users. Isn't it a sign that there is a systematic issue with remotes probably last software update, or something of this type? Anyway, first it was annoying but now the remote responding very slow, because most of the time it is trying to get paired with device, which makes it useless.
Thanks for informing us, @Jodohi.
This has already been forwarded to our Support team. Kindly continue communicating with them for further assistance and updates.
Aside from this, let us know if there's anything else we can be of assistance with.

In the meantime, you can install the Roku mobile app as an alternative to a physical remote. It works well with all of Roku's streaming devices or TVs and has a private listening feature.
Feel free to let us know if there's anything else we can help you with or create a new thread for different concerns. We'd be glad to help.
Kind regards,
Carly
Same issue here with the flashing message. I have tried all troubleshooting suggested in this thread but nothing works. The remote app works but it's a drain on my phone battery and I would prefer using the hand held remote that came with my Roku. What are my next steps to get this resolved?

I have the similar issue, charge indicates 100%/ but if you unplug from the remote from the charging, it stops working. I bought this 2023 May. It was working fine until now. I just need to charge only one time since May, Now the internal battery seems dead. it flashes Battery is 100% and battery is charging"
Hi folks, I got tired of the Roku remote issue. I tried three times that I went to a few local costco stores that I returned and brought the new set. Unfortunetly, they had the same problem.
I believe it was the batch of Roku devices (version 4800-Roku Ultra) sold in Costco were the issue.
I gave up on Costco. I went ahead and brought the new version of the Roku device from Amazon. It works perfectly. The version that works perfectly is the version 4802X-Roku Ultra.
Thanks for your attention.
Great summary. I've had my Voice Remote Pro model RC795 for 6-12 months I guess, and it is doing the exact same thing. I charged it, and it says 75% level, and "Remote Control" with a battery level indicator showing 3 green bars appears on screen for 5 seconds, and then disappears for about 5 seconds, and then reappears/disappears repeatedly like that. And the green "pairing" light on back flashes 5 times every 8-10 seconds. And the "responsiveness" is also glitching intermittently. The buttons will work for a second, and then not work for the next second. As if the remote is continuously re-pairing.
After troubleshooting this for a couple hours and reading the other posts here, it appears the remote is faulty. I'm going to pursue getting a replacement remote.
