I purchased a 4K streaming stick in 2021 and started having pairing problems three months ago. Until a month ago, pairing suggestions/directions have worked.
I have been trying to pair the 3 year old voice remote to the streaming stick for the past two weeks, following every suggestion that I can find on support/Roku Community pages. New batteries, etc. The remote now fails to pair.
Perhaps a new remote is in order?

@GretchenF I ended up doing a factory reset of my Streaming Stick 4k once when I could not get my remote to pair. I have not had a issue since.
Thank you for responding. I just tried the factory reset (or tried to) following the instructions on the 'How to system restart or factory reset' page. The blank screen with the ROKU logo appeared and I pressed the home button. When I pressed the home button, the ROKU home screen came up with all of the available channel/programing selections. I selected the down arrow on the remote and the 'pairing remote' window appeared; after two minutes the pairing failed-the remote provided no access to any channel/selection.
I'm at a loss. Perhaps I didn't fully understand the directions (although I had no problem setting it up in 2021).

Thank you, Arjiemar for your suggestions. I have followed them several times with no success. Can I replace the remote or will I need to replace the stick and remote?
@GretchenF Since the remotes connect using WiFi direct, you might try installing WiFi Analyzer for Android or something similar if you have an iPhone. Once installed, it will show others using the same channel/band..if its congested, you can log into the router/gateway and switch to a channel with less congestion. While the 5 gHz band is most popular, 2.4 gHz band may be an alternative worth considering. Not sure if this will solve it, but its worth giving it a try.
Mine does too, but only since I’ve tried to put new batteries in recently. I’ve used it for over 4 years at least, and have replaced batteries before, but now new batteries won’t work.
they do if I keep one of the old batteries in and only replace one battery, but then remote is low battery. I’ve tried re Paring the remote, but it doesn’t work. I’ve pushed the button and it turns green flashing, but never stops flashing. lol. Once it finally did stop flashing but didn’t work after. I had to put one old batter in, and only replace one battery. This is driving me crazy, because it has never happened to me before. Just recently this year. 2024, September
any ideas why?
thanks for you input. I have spent too much time trying to resolve this problem without success, so I will replace the whole works.
