Welcome, and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community, @zilongur!
Thanks for reaching out. We'd be more than happy to help you find the best resolution so you can get back on streaming and control your TCL Roku TV.
In this case, it might be possible that your old remote has been unpaired to your TV. Have you tried changing its batteries and using it again to see if this makes any difference? Use the following steps to replace the batteries in your remote with a new matching pair.
- Locate a new matching pair of batteries
- Remove the battery cover on the back of your remote
- Remove both batteries from the battery compartment
- Insert the negative (-) end of the new battery first and then gently push the positive (+) end until the battery clicks into place
- Repeat the previous step to install the second battery
- Put the battery cover back on your remote
Furthermore, if the issue persists, and since you mentioned that you accidentally broke the battery cover, this remote might need a replacement. We suggest purchasing a remote directly from TCL or from our website: Roku TV Remote
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Carly
