Question on setting up app with no remote and not connected to same network
We recently moved and have lost the remote. I have a new wireless internet so I cant connect them to same as my phone. Is there a way to get IP address or what can I do?

Re: Question on setting up app with no remote and not connected to same network
Check your router/modem. It should connect to the Roku. If the router/modem is not the issue here, maybe check to see if you can access the remote control on the Roku app on your smartphone or not. If that doesn’t work, you could buy a Voice Remote for about $20 here: https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/roku-voice-remote.

Re: Question on setting up app with no remote and not connected to same network
If you set the SSID and passphrase on the new router to be exactly the same as the old router, then all your old devices should just automatically connect to it. (And during that connection, they will be assigned IP addresses.)
If you can't come up with the old settings, a remote is always a good thing to have.

Re: Question on setting up app with no remote and not connected to same network
The reason that worked is that your Roku still retained your former network's SSID and password in its memory. If it ever loses that info from memory, that trick will not work, and the only way you will be able to reconnect your Roku to your 'net will be by using a compatible remote control for your Roku.
So do NOT do either of these:
- Perform a Factory reset - this will wipe out all settings in memory
- Reset (i.e. clear) its network settings (Settings > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset).
