We appreciate you reaching out for support regarding a concern with pairing a Roku remote to a Roku device without a pairing button.
Please note that a Roku remote with no pairing button is named the "Roku Players Remote. " This remote has an infrared function that does not need to be paired. Just point it directly to a Roku device, and it will work with most Roku players and audio devices (except Roku® Streaming Stick® devices) but not with Roku TV models.
Roku Players Remote has all the basics you need to control your Roku streaming player or Roku audio device. It’s not a voice-activated Roku remote. Since it’s an IR (infrared) remote, it must be pointed directly at your Roku device to work.
