I would suggest a factory reset of the Roku, start over see if you clears up the remote setting issues you're having, because not everyone is having this problem? A couple of weeks ago factory reset 5 Roku in a couple days time to get them to upgrade to 10.5, which four of did. You get used to re-entering your passwords and emails.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts.
Please be aware that we are aware of this issue and the appropriate Roku team is currently investigating. Once more information is available, I'll be sure to update the Community.
All the best,
Irene
Hello,
Has there been a solution to this issue? My Roku will not recognize any tv brand names when manually entered.
Thanks.
When I attempt to set up my remote for tv control, I manually type in the tv device. No matter what I type in, I receive a message that there are no search results.
Model: 3821X - streaming stick 4k+
Serial ID: X01700SFYLA9
Device ID: S09T419FYLA9
Software version: 10.5.1 - build 4055-CU
Tracker ID: ?
Type in to where? The search option on the home page? It has to be in the remote option screen:
settings> remote & devices> remote> remote IN USE> program tv> follow prompts>
Either when attempting to set up remote from the beginning (after syncing) or when setting it up through the remote settings screen after it is synched. The Roku does not recognize any tv brands including Samsung, LG, etc.
Same issue as everyone else in this feed I believe.
As has been reported here, Roku is aware of the problem.
I'm having the exact same problem as everyone in this feed. I have 2 other Roku 4k streaming sticks that I bought about a year or more ago and they did not have this problem and they control my TVs just fine. This new 4k stick I just bought last month won't find any TV brands in the search for connecting remote to your TV. Please fix this Roku. I don't want to have to use two remotes.
Try pairing the new remote to one of the old roku's, set the tv control up, then move it to the new roku by pairing it again. The tv settings should still be there.
Thanks I just tried doing what you said but it didn't work. It did control the tv when paired with the older 4k stick but once I paired it with the new Roku stick it no longer controlled the TV.
