I have a Roku stick. I bought a replacement Roku remote.

I'm able to control all the apps and maneuver around. I'm able to change the volume. I am able to turn the TV off. But, I'm NOT able to turn the TV ON.

I try to link the TV through the remote settings. The sound comes on, but it doesn't turn off during any of the 11 presets. 

My previous remote, which is physically defective, still turns the TV on/off. 

I'm lost.

Try Apex or Changhong tv brands.

Also make sure Roku device is getting power from wall, not TV.

Not able to turn on is a common problem, though, not always fixable.

Thank you. I checked all the connections and power point. 

It still seems to be an extremely weak connection to turn it on. I'm not sure why. My old one works fine.

You buy them separately  at Walmart or Best Buy, it's cheaper at Walmart.
