Need Help with 3810x won’t pair with remote

Odd situation, but the WiFi device (WR001) on my streaming stick broke so I ordered a new one directly from Roku. When I got it and hooked it up my device didn’t connect to the WiFi network and the remote didn’t pair. I did a hard reset on the Roku and put the remote in pairing mode but still no luck. The green light on the remote is blinking but the Roku isn’t recognizing it. Anyone experience this?

Welcome to the Roku Community, @bsaenz1!

Thanks for reaching out and for letting us know about being unable to pair your physical Roku remote to your device. No worries! We're here to help.

We are keen on learning more about this, so please provide us with the following additional information:

  • Is this your first time activating this device?
  • What specific Roku device are you having this issue with? Is this the remote that came with it? If not, kindly let us know the model of your remote. (Identify your Roku remote here)

In the meantime, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to help you:

Reboot your remote

If your voice remote uses standard AA or AAA alkaline batteries, you can reboot it by removing and reinstalling the batteries.

  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of your remote
  2. Remove both batteries from the battery compartment
  3. Re-insert the negative (-) end of a battery first and then gently push the positive (+) end until the battery clicks into place
  4. Repeat the previous step to install the second battery
  5. Put the battery cover back on your remote

If your voice remote has a rechargeable battery, follow the steps below below to reboot your remote

  • If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
  • If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home for 20 seconds.

Reboot your streaming device

Use the following steps to restart your streaming device.

  1. Remove the power cable from your streaming device
  2. Wait at least 5 seconds
  3. Re-connect the power cable
  4. Wait for your streaming device to power on, and the Home screen to appear on your TV
  5. Once you see the Home screen, try to use your remote to control your device

If this is a newly purchased remote, you may directly pair it by following the steps provided in this support article:

Please keep us posted on how it goes and we'll continue assisting you from there.
