I am having the same problem. I just purchased 2 Roku Voice Remote Pro units a month ago and both of them are having the same charging issues. They are not even lasting 24 hours. Right now I was notified of only 10% battery left, yet I charged this unit during the night. That is approximately 14 hours since it was taken off the charger, which stated it was at 100%. This is unacceptable. I do not have the voice control activated (never have) and do not use head phones, ever. The tv has been on the same channel since it was turned on and the mute button has been used once today for approximately 10 minutes. What is being done about this issue?
Hi @Drewski14,
Greetings from the Roku Community!

Please provide us with the device serial number where the remote is paired, and we'll take it from there.

There are many complaints of Voice Remote Pros that lose their ability to take a charge, but I've had this remote for well over a 1.5 years and have noticed no loss of charge holding capacity or ability to charge. I don't know if I just happened to have gotten lucky and received a good one, or if my usage pattern has something to do with it.
Many (most? all?) rechargeable batteries deteriorate if repeatedly allowed to overcharge. Both my Samsung phone and Lenovo tablet even have optional features that will cut off charging before the battery reaches full charge to prevent or limit this deterioration.
I've always made a point to disconnect my Voice Remote Pro from the charger when it reaches full charge, or slightly before. I especially try to avoid letting it charge unattended overnight. The charger I use outputs 2 amps and the remote charges fairly quickly. You can check the charge level via "Settings > Remotes & devices > Remotes > Voice Remote Pro > About" on your Roku. If I don't want to exit what I am doing just to check the charge level while charging, I just unplug from the charge cord and observe the popup on the upper right corner of the screen.
Same problem for me. Trying to reach an agent. No response.
Hi @deansimpson,
Thanks for reaching out to us here.
May we know what Roku device this remote is paired with? Also, is this the first time this has happened to your remote?
Your response is highly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Janadee
Same problem as so many here have been posting. Only way to use remote is to keep it plugged in and this is ridiculous to have a cord running all over the living room to be able to control the TV. Why did Roku stop using alkaline battery powered remotes?! Never had this problem with those controllers. They would last for many months or as long as the alkaline battery held charge. I would much prefer that than having to leave controller manually plugged in to extension cord from the wall for it to work. Meh.
Welcome, and thank you for posting here at the Roku Community, @SoooUpset!
We appreciate you for bringing this to our attention and completely understand your input. Kindly provide us with the serial number of the Roku streaming device your remote is paired with.
We'll be anticipating your response.
Thanks,
Carly
