Re: Youtube app goes black after a few seconds

Hi @rammy304,

We extend our warm welcome here in the Roku Community!

You're doing a great job troubleshooting the issue you are experiencing with the YouTube channel. After attempting the troubleshooting steps, videos from other channels play fine. In that case, we suggest contacting the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. The channel developers themselves maintain channels on Roku. In this case, an issue within that specific channel likely needs to be addressed with an update from them.

If there's anything else that we can do to help you, please let us know.

Best regards,
John

Re: Youtube app goes black after a few seconds

Hi @AndrewHodgkin11,

Thanks for keeping us posted!

We understand you're having a problem with the Netflix channel. Help is here. Please try these troubleshooting steps below:

  • Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
  • Restart your Roku device: Press home on your Roku remote, select settings, select system, and system restart.
  • Re-install the channel: Scroll down to search, put the name of the channel or app, highlight the channel, and select add channel.

If the problem still persists, please try to update the channel by highlighting the channel tile, pressing the star button on your Roku remote, and selecting check for updates.

Let us know how it goes!

All the best,
John
