Using a GANA 5 in 1 Out 4K@60Hz HDMI Splitter on 58" Hinsense Roku TV

I have a Hisense 58" ROKU TV. it has 3 HDMI, but the 1st one is for my eARC, which my ROKU sound bar is hooked up to since the TV does NOT have Blue Tooth accessibility. I bought a GANA 5 in 1 Out 4K@60Hz HDMI Splitter 2.0 Switcher with Remote. I hooked it up to my 3rd HDMI plug in the back. (2 is difficult to get to with my bracket for my Swivel base stand. The issue is we have NOT been able to get this to SEE my HDMI SPLITTER? Is this COMPATIBLE with my ROKU TV or have I wasted my money buying it? Is there an easy way to set this up?

HDMI splitters are used on an HDMI output, and a Roku TV has no such port. It only has HDMI inputs, and you cannot use a splitter to add additional port inputs. If you want to use different devices on the same HDMI port without swapping cables, you need an HDMI switch.

Re: Using a GANA 5 in 1 Out 4K@60Hz HDMI Splitter on 58" Hinsense Roku TV

OK, they threw me for a loop using the word "splitter", because a switch and splitter are two different things. I am assuming this is the product you bought. In general, it should for fine for you. However, looking at some of the comments I did find this information: "it doesn't work with all hardware combinations." That commenter did go into a little detail about what didn't work, and it's possible that is the issue you have encountered. I've never heard of this brand, so no idea what sort of reputation it has.

I did see this as a recommended alternative. I am a bit familiar with UGREEN, and it has a slightly better review rating. While it's $10 more than the one you bought, Amazon does show a 30% off coupon checkbox which would make it $1 less than the one you bought. I recommend returning the one that doesn't work and try a different one.
