I’ve had my TCL Roku TV for years now. Since at least 2018, and I have never had any issues with volume like I am having now. Over the last 9 months I’ve been experiencing issues with the volume of my tv increasing uncontrollably without me pressing any buttons. Sometimes the volume flys all the way to 100 before I have a chance to get my hands on my remote. Once I do, it will oftentimes fight me and not want to decrease in volume right away. I often need to pause what I’m watching to try and wrangle the volume, but that may be a fight too with the programming repeatedly unpausing after it’s been paused. Since this issue has started, I’ve tried all the troubleshooting; I’ve unplugged my tv, checked my volume settings, made sure the software is up to date, checked the physical buttons on my remote and television, connected external speakers, and even completed a factory reset. However, the issue persist and I have no idea how to fix it. Based on some internet research I do see I’m not the only person having this problem and there is speculation that this could be a firmware issue. I really do hope this can be resolved, because at this point I honestly don’t know what else to do beyond getting a new tv, which sucks, because other than the volume thing there’s nothing wrong with my tv and I’ve enjoyed it for a long time and wanted to continue enjoying it.
