Missing ota channel when connected to wifi

When connected to wifi, TV is missing an OTA channel. If TV is disconnected from wifi and power cycled the missing OTA channel shows up, until reconnected to wifi.

Re: Missing ota channel when connected to wifi

Hi, @Willy4

It's always great to see new users around here in the Roku Community.

We appreciate you for sharing this information with us, and we'd be more than glad to help. This would be subject for further investigation, and we request the details below:

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version. (These can all be found in Settings > System > About).
  • What channel and what version/build is the channel that is having the issue? (This can be found by selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button).
  • Tracker ID when this issue occurs. (When you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).
  • A photo or video clip referring to the issue,

Once we have this information, we will be able to investigate further.

Best wishes,
Kash

Re: Missing ota channel when connected to wifi

I do believe he told you up front.

Version 12.5.5

build 4174

OTA (over the air) channels missing. I have the same problem with 2 OTA subchannels. One is Spanish speaking and the other doesn't have any TV guide description but they are both available on my "dumb" TV. You guys seem to forget about over the air channels and mainly support streaming but some of us actually have and use antennas.

Re: Missing ota channel when connected to wifi

After a little research, the problem is the channel guide. Roku doesn't use station EPG information for their channel guide, they use some third party Internet TV guide so if the channel isn't listed by the third party service, you can't watch the channel. Roku, use the EPG information provided by the stations rather than some third party. You save money and a lot of frustration by unhappy customers.
