Roku TV screen going black and only the audio stays

Every time I play a show or movie or anything on my TV the screen goes black and only the audio plays. Every single app, everything. I’ve been having to deal with this for the past 2 weeks and I still can’t figure out how to fix it, so I decided to ask here. Is there a fix? (Side note: I already factory reset, turned it on and off, and switched the hdmi cords)

You've mentioned that there is an issue with a black screen display while the sound is on with your Roku TV while playing content, and we'd like to take a closer look at the issue. Can you please provide us with the following details below:

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version. (These can all be found in Settings > System > About).
  • What channel and what version/build is the channel that is having the issue? (This can be found by selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button).
  • Tracker ID when this issue occurs. (When you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).
  • A photo or video clip referring to the issue,

Once we have this information, we'll be able to review this case and work with the appropriate Roku team for investigation.

I was having this happen recently as well. However, last night, after yet another system reset, it now seems to work properly, for now...
