I read the thread about HDR10+ on Roku TVs. I have the 43" and 55" Select Series TVs (purchased in Dec. 2024), and no matter what expert settings and combinations I try, HDR10+ on both TVs looks washed out and the colors dim, especially on Apple TV+ shows. The "secret menu" does not have a turn-off or disable HDR setting. Please provide a solution that works. I've tried every manner of expert settings adjustments. Also, there's no way to revert to SDR for HDR10+ programming. The 3 default HDR10+ options aren't sufficient. Thank you.

Hi @mvc,
Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!
We want to investigate further the issue you had with the Roku Select Series TV display issue. Can you please provide the following details below?
We look forward to hearing from you and looking closely into this issue.
Thanks,
John
Hi RokuJohnB,
Apple TV+ app is the biggest offender. Some shows are almost unwatchable due to dim and dark pictures such as Presumed Innocent and Before. I have adjusted all the default HDR10+ settings and changed expert settings etc. including lowering the gamma. I went into the Apple TV+ app settings and toggled on "Limit Playback to SD" which made no difference. The TV came with 3 months free of Apple TV+ and although the programming is good, I would not pay for this at the end of 3 months due to low quality picture.
I keep reading that the ability to toggle HDR on/off is in the Roku tv "secret menu" but that does not exist in mine. I have a Dec. 2024 55" and a June 2024 43" Roku Select Series TV.
Some of the other apps have dim picture quality but Apple TV+ is by far the worst. If there was an ability to control the HDR10+ on the Roku TV (turn off/on) that might help. I've experimented with all the HDR10+ expert settings, backlight, etc. and just can't get a sharp saturated picture. At this point I've reverted all the HDR10+ Roku settings to their defaults.
Although the issue probably lies w/ the Apple TV+ app, having the ability to toggle HDR off/on on the Roku TV could bypass poor picture quality on apps.

I don't think there's anything "wrong" with the TV itself. It's certain apps and shows. If the TV had the ability to toggle HDR10+ off in the "secret" menu that would help. Apparently, earlier Roku TVs did have this and it was removed. Mine are fairly new and do not have it.
