We are seeing this as well on all of our Roku TVs.  We use these for our Airbnb's.

Roku employees are you working on a fix that is clearly a new bug?

Has anyone else found a solution?   We are considering not using guest mode until this is fixed.

Re: Roku Guest Mode Reboot Loop

Jump to solution

Hi Community users,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We appreciate you letting us know that you are experiencing an issue with the Guest mode reboot loop. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We have identified the problem and expect to provide a fix in an upcoming update.

To help resolve this issue, we recommend performing a factory reset.

  1. Make sure to power on the Roku device/TV before you perform the factory reset.
  2. Locate the reset button of your Roku device/TV. It's typically located on the back or bottom of your device/TV.
  3. Press and Hold the reset button for exactly 10 seconds.
  4. When the factory reset is complete, most Roku devices have an indicator light or status LED that blinks rapidly.

If the issue persists after the factory reset, please provide us with the following details below:

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
  • Troubleshooting steps taken

We’ll mark this post as solved to help other users facing the same problem.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to resolve this issue promptly.

Best Regards,
Riamie

I'm having the same issue on my AirB&B TCL Roku TV after the recent update.

Factory reset steps didn't help and the boot loop and "guest login-out" screen cycles through even after 3 factory resets.

Please advise:

Version: CGC.50R01327A
Serial: X012000GDHC3
Device ID: S0JUY3AGDHC3
Roku TV: G138X
Model: 65S451

Hello Roku Community,

We’ve received reports from users experiencing issues with Guest Mode, and we'd love to get more information to help troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

If you’ve encountered issues with Guest Mode, please share more details about your experience! Here are a few questions to help us understand the situation better:

  1. How did your Guest Mode issue start?
  • Was there a specific event or update that seemed to trigger the issue?
  • Did Guest Mode stop working suddenly, or has it been an ongoing problem?
  1. What do you see on the screen?
  • Are you seeing a blank screen, an error message, or any other unusual behavior when trying to use Guest Mode?
  • If applicable, are you having issues with other features (such as the "Continue Watching" list) while in Guest Mode?
  1. What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
  • Have you already tried restarting your Roku device? If so, did that help resolve the issue?
  • If restarting didn’t work, did you try performing a factory reset of your Roku device? (Note: To perform a factory reset, press and hold the reset button on the Roku for exactly 10 seconds until the device restarts.)
  1. Other Information:
  • If you’re seeing any specific error codes or messages, please let us know.
  • Any screenshots or details you can provide will help us better understand the issue.

Why This Matters:
Understanding your experiences and troubleshooting steps helps us pinpoint potential fixes and improve the Roku experience for everyone. Your feedback is essential!

Looking forward to hearing from you all. Let’s work together to get Guest Mode working smoothly again!

Best regards,
The Roku Community Team

Same issue on a TCL Roku TV.

Says "Guest Mode Signing Out" then reboots, comes to the "TCL ° Roku TV" boot screen, then reboots again.  Rinse and repeat. Forever.

Hi @Maggie9,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We understand that you are having difficulty finding the reset button on your Roku TV for the troubleshooting steps provided. Below are the details on how to factory reset your Roku TV.

The physical Reset button can be found on the back or bottom of your device. It may be either a tactile button or a pinhole design that needs a straightened paper clip to activate. It will resemble one of the following options:

To factory reset the Roku TV,  press and hold the button firmly for about 10 seconds. For reference, please visit our Roku Support article: How to factory reset your Roku streaming device

We hope you find this information helpful.

Riamie

Re: Roku Guest Mode Reboot Loop

I had a few TVs that I was able to fix by turning off the wifi on the router/modem and plugging the tv directly into an ethernet cable. I would try this if the logging into the browser and turning off guest mode or resetting did not work.
