Bloomberg Media app issues

Jump to solution

Using latest Roku 4k Ultra model with All Updates applied.

Watching Bloomberg Media app. Bloomberg TV live within app.

Upon launching the app I get several pre-roll ads.  The first ad works okay, then any 2nd or later ad has no audio. When the app returns to Bloomberg live feed post pre-roll ads, there is no audio.

Alternatively, if upon startup things work ok, when I get interstitial ads, the ads are delayed, then any subsequent ads have no audio and upon return to main Bloomberg TV live stream, the audio is WAY AHEAD of the live feed - in fact it's still playing ad audio while video is of the Bloomberg live TV feed.

It's a mess and unwatchable.  I have broadband with sufficient bandwidth that this is not any issues. The app seems to be the issue. Checking on PC app (bloomberg.com/live) it seems to work,

Hello @RogueNH

Thanks for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing.

In some cases, removing the channel and then re-installing it may help. To ensure the process is successful, follow the steps below making sure you restart your Roku device before adding the channel again.

  1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press the Star button to open the options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.

    • Note: If you are removing a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must cancel the subscription before you see the Remove channel option. For help identifying this type of subscription channel, read the detailed article about removing a channel.

  2. Restart your Roku device: If it is inconvenient to reach the power cord to unplug your Roku device, you can restart the device from the settings menu. Go to Settings > System > System restart > Restart.

  3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.

    • Note: If you are adding a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you will need to resubscribe.

If after attempting the suggestions above, you are still experiencing the same issue while videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves.

You can reach them here: Bloomberg Support or call them at 1-212-318-2000.

All the best,
Kariza
