Hey guys, I have a couple of quick questions. I remember in the past reading that the Roku service on Roku TVs could be very slow on the less expensive TVs, and it was better to buy any TV and use a Roku streaming stick with it. Is that still true?
I ask because I am currently in the process of looking for a new 60 inch TV for my living room. I have a Roku stick in it now but that is probably getting older as well.
The TV I’m replacing is a 1080p Vizio that I purchased 10 years ago. I have been very happy with it but unfortunately there is something wrong which is making a few dark spots on it, probably something wrong with the circuitry making some of the back lights not come on.
I read that Vizio is not as good as it was in the past and that I should look for a different brand. if anyone has a recommendation on an inexpensive but decent TV I would appreciate it. I don’t need high-end graphics since my 10-year-old Vizio is more than enough for me.
Hi @Shootintrouble,
Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community!
Please be advised that a Roku TV is not necessarily "way better" than a Roku device. However, a Roku TV can be a more convenient option if you want a complete smart TV experience with the Roku interface built in. A Roku device is better if you already have a TV and just want to add streaming capabilities without buying a new TV.
Hope you'll find this info useful.
Best regards,
John
