Setting up new Roku TV. How do you use Live TV input "Antenna & Cable"?

Jump to solution

Bought a Roku TV for my mother-in-law.  When setting up for live tv there are 3 options (see below).  I was hooking up a cable TV set top box, so I selected Cable.  I saw the 3rd selection, "Antenna & Cable".  I would like to hook up both an antenna and a cable set top box (until we eliminate cable".  Both the antenna and cable box use RG6 coax.

Can someone explain if this setting will work for me?

@SJMaye,

Thank you for posting in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you contacting us regarding setting up your Roku TV with both an antenna and cable connection. We are excited to assist you in ensuring you can enjoy various channels and programs.

You can connect both an antenna and a cable TV service only if your cable set-top box uses an HDMI connection and your antenna uses the coaxial port. If both devices are connected via coaxial, you will need to choose whether to use the antenna or the cable. In that case, your only option is to connect your cable through the HDMI port.

For more detailed information, please check out how to set up and watch cable or satellite TV on your Roku TV system.

Thanks again for reaching out. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Cheers,
Arjiemar
