What, that it's Apple's responsibility? Just stating a fact. Roku has no control over the functionality of 3rd party apps. They do not provide the apps for other providers. The app provider has sole control over the devices that are permitted to use their app.
Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.
We understand your concern with the Apple TV Plus app and acknowledge your statements about the app's functionality.
We recommend contacting Apple TV support to address your concern. Since apps and channels on Roku are managed by the channel provider, their support team can assist you further. They may provide a workaround or develop an update that resolves the issue.
To contact them, please refer to Apple TV - Official Apple Support
We hope that this will be sorted out soon.
Thanks,
Kash
Same. Have an older Roku but if the Apple screener app is accessible the Apple TV one should be as well. I think it’s just to get people to buy another tv.
Hi, @KaylaHamm
Welcome to the Roku Community.
We understand your comments on the Apple TV Screener app. As advised in this thread, channel providers are the ones who manage their own apps.
To inquire further about your concern, you can contact Apple Support. Their contact information has been included in my previous post above.
Thank you for your understanding, and let us know if you have further concerns or inquiries.
The Roku Community Team.
Thumbs down.
Sad
What is thumbs down/sad about it? Apple created the app, only they can address any user issues.
Hi, @Sackett442
Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.
As mentioned in this thread, any features you would like to see added to Apple TV should be directed to their support team. Please keep in mind that most apps on Roku are developed and managed by their respective channel providers.
For more information, you can contact Apple TV | Official Apple Support
Hope you find this information helpful, and feel free to reach out to us if you need further assistance.
Thanks,
The Roku Community Team.
Hi, @RokuTakashi.
Please this read carefully because you haven’t given any support or answered any questions.
We cannot access the application on the Roku TV Streaming Store. Typing in Apple TV or Apple TV plus brings up nothing. Insignia and Sharp TV’s both in the US don’t have it.
We are not trying to “add features to Apple TV” like you said in the above post. We are trying to access it through the Roku TV Streaming Store, it is simply not there.
Hi, @atc98092.
I find it hard to believe that Roku doesn’t manage their own software updates, especially since the first thing they told us to do was to update the TV software to have the App added into the store.
If that is the case, and Apple writes their own code for the app into the Roku software updates. Please provide a source and I’ll head over to Apple Support.
Thanks.
Yes, Roku does not provide or support apps from 3rd parties. They offer only a few apps themselves. For everyone else they simply provide the platform. I don’t use the Apple TV app, so I have no support information to provide. But it should not be difficult to find it with a web search.
But I will add that when an app is not visible in the Roku channel store, but others can see it, you are either located in an unsupported country or you are using a VPN that is hiding your location.
