@ViewerDM I have had Cloud DVR service for nearly 2 years now.  What Spectrum customer service told you is absolutely not true.  It has only been recently over the last 3 weeks or so that being able to view "in progress" recordings has been an issue.  I have talked to their IT support twice and Spectrum knows it is an issue.  Spectrum is supposedly working on a fix for it.   I think they are just telling you that as a temporary way to view the recording before it finishes and to keep you from complaining.

As a general knowledge to everyone in this thread, contacting Spectrum's support is the best possible way to get this issue resolved since this has been acknowledged by their team as an ongoing issue. 

A possible fix should be available once this has been sorted out by the Spectrum team.

Ok thanks a lot, that is very good news. I wasn't aware that cloud DVR has been around 2 years- I thought that was kind of a new feature that replaced the Hd box DVR.

Also I didn't mention I just got Spectrum service hooked up 2 days ago. So I was very worried that I might not have this function available. Also just tested it on the Xuomo box remote on my other (small non Roku) TV and it DOES allow me to watch a recording while the recording is in progress. Just not able to do it on the Roku TV with the Spectrum app.  So I guess worst case if this never gets fixed i think can put a Xuomo box on my Roku TV , or at least get a hard wired HD cable box for that Roku TV. But hopefully it will not come to that.

And yeah that's disappointing that the Spectrum customer service rep told me that this function would never be available. But I guess I will continue to follow this thread, and follow up with spectrum support later .

@ViewerDM It has been around a bit longer than that, but they didn't promote it as much as they do now as they were still developing the Xumo box.  I got it to try as a partial replacement to the DVR boxes I use to have and because I was traveling a lot and want to be able to see my recordings on the road.  A few months later, I replaced all the cable boxes I had and went with Rokus completely with a cable subscription.

Since you have only been with Spectrum a few days, you missed the debacle about nine months to a year ago, when they oversold their streaming services, and their system couldn't handle it, which totally hosed up streaming and recording for everyone.  It took them 3 months to fix and a public apology from its CEO to the customers.   They supposedly have been making major upgrades to the streaming services, and I will give them credit it has improved since that mess, but they still have issues like these that pop up from time to time.

Again, I think their CS reps tell people that because they either don't know personally or they are trying to keep people from complaining and posting complaints online like they currently are on these forums, Spectrum's and others.

At the end of the day, it will get fixed, but who knows how long that will take.

I have resolved this problem on my system.  I updated the Spectrum app on Roku to its  latest version, and then I rebooted the Roku unit itself.  Hope this helps.

Okay good news, but you sounds like you have a Roku stick not a Roku TV correct?

Keep in mind that the "in progress recordings" may work for some recordings and not for others, or at least that was my experience last weekend.  The issue tended to give more viewing problems with stuff that have a lot of people watching and/or recordings, especially live sporting events like the NFL playoffs.

I have the latest Spectrum app, and I am not aware of any update recently.

I will check on my end with an in-progress recording.... On Patrol as well as a basketball game were ones that didn't work, so I will be able to tell you by Saturday.

Do you happen to recall what version of the Spectrum app was on your device prior to updating and what version now?

Spectrum also has not responded that a fix is in place in their forums either.

I use newer Ultras, but I don't think this is a device specific problem or even a Roku issue, especially when Spectrum acknowledges they have a technical issue on their end.

I have not tested an in-progress recording since the games last Sunday, so it is possible the issue is fixed, but they normally respond in their forums if they have the issue corrected.
